Rancho BioSciences hiring RShiny Scientist/Bioinformatics in San Diego, California, United States

Rancho Biosciences is seeking a RShiny bioinformatics expert to provide support for a range of projects which include the development of R-Shiny applications, managing NGS data associated with clinical and metadata organization. Work from home while supporting high impact pharmaceutical, academic and institutional science programs. We are specifically looking for individuals with experience in development of user-driven applications for the query and visualization of biological data. A proven track record of collaborative and independent contributions to similar applications is necessary. A working knowledge of modern software tools, cloud computing and pipeline development is also critical. This position is a unique opportunity for an individual to make a real impact on human health alongside our team of curators, computational biologists, biostatisticians and computer scientists.

  • MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Biology, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with NGS data, including exposure to processing pipelines, analysis output types and relevant metadata methods.
  • Amazing communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, and Bash) along with programming with R.
  • Exposure to public data sources, such as TCGA, CCLE, Ensembl, GTEx, Achilles, etc.
  • Drive to learn new analysis methodologies and tools
  • Independently driven and hard working
