Bioinformatics Scientist

Reporting to the Data Scientist, the Bioinformatics scientist manages, processes, and analyzes genomic, epigenomic and molecular data. Accountable for building and maintaining databases to contain the information, and create or select algorithms to process, analyze, visualize, and interpret. The Bioinformatics scientist will be responsible to build and maintain bioinformatics pipelines.

Responsibilities:

Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics.

Experience in developing algorithms for analysis of biological data.

Experience contributing to complex production analytical system.

Experience with high-throughput sequencing.

Ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience.

Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced and results oriented environment.

Must understand HIPPA and importance of patient privacy.

Impeccable documentation practices and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Strong interpersonal skills that include collaboration and creative problem solving

Qualifications:

3+ of industry experience (require less experience with advanced degree).

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Cell or Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.

Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics.

Excellent time-management skills and demonstrates the ability to multi-task.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of advanced clinical laboratory techniques.

Experience with Cloud computing and High-performance computing
