About the Opportunity:
– A renowned, award-winning, scientific research institute located in San Diego, CA is looking for an efficient Bioinformatics Analyst II to join their growing team
– The institute was founded by the developer of the polio vaccine and consistently ranks among the top institutions in the US in terms of research output and quality in the life sciences.
– You will work closely with other members of the project and the laboratory to advance the computational approaches involved in data analysis
Bioinformatics Analyst II Responsibilities:
– Develop advanced computational and statistical methods for big-data analysis
– Create and implement machine learning algorithms for identifying patterns and signatures relevant to biological datasets
– Administrating shared computer resources, such as compute and storage servers
– Implementing, optimizing, and executing the currently available pipelines
Bioinformatics Analyst II Qualifications:
– 3+ years of relevant bioinformatics experience
– MS degree in bioinformatics or related discipline
– Proficient in Python and in Bash, AWK, or R (any of these 3 should be proficient in two)
