Associate Director of Bioinformatics (Applications)
Reporting to the Director of Bioinformatics, the Associate Director of Bioinformatics will provide leadership and management to a team of bioinformatics scientists developing industry-leading NGS-based Precision Metagenomics tests for infectious diseases, and will serve as the bioinformatics lead in cross-functional project-based product development teams.
The Associate Director of Bioinformatics is accountable for all bioinformatics-related milestones within their project-based product development teams and will work closely with the laboratory, medical, marketing, sales, and customer success teams. The role will be expected to mentor and grow employees within the bioinformatics department and to lead by example.

Education
Minimum Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Genomics, or a related Engineering field with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with NGS data and bioinformatic methods
Experience
Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in medical diagnostic product development
5+ years of industry experience developing molecular IVD diagnostic products for infectious diseases
5+ years of industry experience developing next-generation sequencing-based tests
5+ years of industry experience with microbial genomics and bioinformatics-based products
5+ years of management experience
Python proficiency
Design control proficiency
Preferred
Python expertise
Design control expertise
Experience in IVD product development in the genomics space
Experience working in a regulated software environment with strict version-control and testing requirements
Experience writing technical documents and typesetting in LaTex
Familiarity with cloud computing resources (Amazon, Google)
