We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and computationally savvy postdoctoral fellow to join the Center for Desert Agriculture at KAUST. The mission of the KAUST Center for Desert Agriculture is to use cutting-edge technology to develop novel types of agro-ecosystems that can produce high-yielding crops with less water, fertilizers, and pesticides, and that can make use of marginal soils and saline water. An important component of the Center’s activities is the use of AgriGenomics to study wild and semi-domesticated plant species with a high degree of adaptation to a hot, arid and saline environment and to repeat the process of domestication. The postdoctoral fellow will work on the establishment of genomic resources for several wild and semi-domesticated species that serve as potential targets for desert agriculture. Requirements
We are seeking an outstanding young scientist who has recently been awarded a PhD degree in bioinformatics, genomics, or similar. Applicants must have a strong and demonstrated background in bioinformatics (genome assembly, genome annotation, and population genomics). Experience in cereal research is preferable. Offer
