Vice President of Bioinformatics

Mackenzie Stuart is working in close partnership with a leading Bioinformatics and Data Science company. Our client is a leading research-based biotechnology company.

We are currently recruiting for a Vice President of Bioinformatics located in North USA. The role will be reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Bioinformatics.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Design and implement analytical approaches and learning models
• Communicate insights and conclusions to business development teams and executive management
• Experience in analysis large biological data sets to specific time frames
• Maintain current internal databases and software and develop these where possible
• Manage a team of bioinformaticians, biostatisticians and computational biologists
• Work with company executive leadership to formulate and translate corporate strategy and priorities into concrete informatics projects and deliverables
• Manage in-house and/or outsourced biostatisticians/programmers, and mentor these team members as required
• Serve as a general bioinformatics resource at the company

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

• PhD in computational/informatics/biostatistics or a related discipline
• Previous Biotechnology experience
• Strong coding skills with fluency in Python or R
• Experience with data processing, statistical analysis, data visualisation
• Experience in promoting team members success
• Highly motivated with the ability to work successfully in a team environment
• Strong ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
