Help extracting SS from DSSP file

Hello, I am new to programming but need some help extracting SSS from specific chains from 150 dssp files. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to do it in python, I am aware there is a biopython parser from dssp files, but I need to master python iterating and parsing and this seems like a great task to do so.
