dssp plot on RMSF plot

Hi everyone!
I’m at my first step in the fabulous world of bioinformatic and md simulations.
I want to do a plot like a rectangle patch plot on top of my RMSF plot, to indicate for every residue its secondary structure (just to be more clear, something like this). I got a pandas dataframe with 3 columns: residue, DSSP simplified code for secondary structure, and dssp color associated.
I just don’t get how can i code a rectangle patch to plot the dssp.
