Yale University Careers hiring Associate Research Scientist – Bioinformatics in New Haven, Connecticut, United States

The Yale Genomic Resource Facility is looking for a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist with a strong background in the analysis next-generation sequencing data, extensive experience in human genetics, and a keen interest in collaborating with investigators at Yale. The successful candidate will provide genomic analyses support and develop bioinformatics pipelines and innovative bioinformatics approaches for the analysis of sequencing data, as well as interact with collaborators to develop grant applications, to write text for article submissions and to create journal-quality graphics and figures.

The ideal candidate will have Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics or related scientific field and must have extensive computational and next generation sequence analysis experience. Candidates must possess experience in Python scripting/programming, in developing/running bioinformatics pipelines and in using bioinformatics tools. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A background of statistical analysis and using Python or R for analysis/graphing is desired.
