Are there any studies that have computed the distribution on number of samples vs. number of features in Omics datasets?

I’m working on my PhD dissertation and making a statement about how Omics datasets tend to have more features than samples. I feel this fact is well known but am struggling to find a study on the actual numbers. Perhaps someone has gone through NIH’s GEO and looked at the dimensionality from there?
