Phylum and Genus phyloseq

Hello community,

I have reads from microbiome that give me the phylum of several bacteria.

On the other hand I have reads that give me genus of the same bacteria.

Using phyloseq, how can I combine these 2 data set (merge doesn’t work) in order to have the relationship between phylum and Genus.

I want to construct a tree and give the beta and alpha diversity as well as jaccard index
