Downloading authorized data from dbGAP leads to a “looped” message

Hello everyone,

i am trying to download authorized dbGAP data. My PI gave me the .ngc key and the necessary kart file. I used this as a guide to configure vdb-config:

I then tried to use prefetch to download the data:
/path/to/sratool/bin/prefetch –ngc /path/to/ngcfile/.ngc /path/to/kartfile/.kart -O ./ -X 800g

However, i get the as an output the following message repeatdly:

“Current preference is set to retrieve SRA Normalized Format files with full base quality scores”.

This just keeps going and going, without any data being downloaded.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
