Subsequently, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed an internship in internal medicine at Loyola University Health System. Later, she completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Illinois Chicago Hospital.
Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to serve patients, the public, and the medical profession by certifying that its diplomats have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the safe and competent practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
Licensed in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin, Dr. Carrillo has an interest in clinical research and has contributed to several published articles and presentations. She is a member of many professional organizations, including the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the American Medical Association.
