DNA-binding transcriptional regulator CreB-phosphorylated activates transcription.[
Avison01]
Site Summary:
CreB is a response regulator that activates transcription of the ackA-pta operon. In 2001, M. Avison et al. identified a possible binding site for CreB, TTCACCTCAACTTCAC, in the upstream region of the operon [Avison01]. The predicted binding site of CreB has been identified based on similarity to the consensus sequence (acTTCACnnnnacTTCAC) and demonstration of its function based on gene expression analysis [Avison01]. The transcription start site for this operon has not been identified; for this reason, the binding site has no central position. This response regulator requires one direct repeat binding site of 18 bp to activate transcription of the ackA-pta operon.
