Getting a bioinformatics job related to conservation

Hi there, I did a double major in biological sciences and statistics for my BSc with the intention of getting into bioinformatics. I am now choosing between getting a job and learning to become a bioinformatist on the job slowly, or getting into a PhD that focuses on conservation genomics.

The job opportunities I’ve seen offered here have been based on crop production or vineyard production for wine. I’m sure these would still be interesting, but it isn’t really my end goal. Has anyone seen any jobs related to conservation (coming up with good breeding plans for endangered species etc.) or is this not really a thing? Thank you!
