Bug#1016498: rope: autopkgtest regression: No module named ‘pkg_resources’

Source: rope
Version: 1.2.0-1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: regression

Dear maintainer(s),

With a recent upload of rope the autopkgtest of rope fails in testing
when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of rope from
unstable. It passes when run with only packages from testing. In tabular
form:

                       pass fail
rope from testing 1.2.0-1
all others from testing from testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. It seems to me
you’re just missing a new (test) dependency.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration to testing [1]. Can
you please investigate the situation and fix it?
