We are hiring a Bioinformatics Scientist I/II to join our Computational Biology Team

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Providing project support to laboratory scientists for the engineering of novely developed enzymes for our performance enzymes business unit.
  • Generating reliable structural models of enzymes using software such as MOE, Discovery Studio, Rosetta and AlphaFold.
  • in-silico docking of substrates/products/transition states into the active site of an enzyme. 
  • Structural modeling, docking, analysis and visualization of proteins via HTS.
  • Working with next-generation sequencing data to help indentify/model more robust variants for development.
  • Utilizing machine learning techniques as it applies to structural biology 

To be successful in this role, your background and experience should include:

  • A PhD is required plus Postdoctoral work with emphasis in computational or structural biology with proteins, preferably enzymes.
  • A solid understanding of enzyme mechanisms reflected in publication record and/or resume.
  • Two years of experience in a biotechnology working environment is preferred
  • A good understanding of molecular biology and biochemistry.
  • Some hands on wet-lab experience or extensive experience working directly with wet-lab scientists
  • Some experience with Python, Java, or another programming language.
  • Experience or background with wet lab techniques.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • A team player who is comfortable collaborating with experimentalists.
  • Self-motivated with a history of identifying solutions to complex problem
  • Level of role is determined by level of experience
