Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoctoral researcher in bioinformatics

Protein Structure and Bioinformatics group investigates genetic and other variations and their effects on DNA, RNA and protein, on structural, functional and other levels. We have developed several of the most reliable variation effect predictors as PON-P2 and PON-MMR for variant pathogenicity, PON-Sol and PON-Stab for molecular effects and PON-mt-tRNA and PON-BTK for molecule-specific predictions. We use and develop bioinformatic methods to reveal the significance of the variants especially in the relation of diseases.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PostDoc (two years) to the LDM-team at MAX IV

The work tasks of the postdoc in the LDM-team include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate in the commissioning, maintenance, preparation and operation of various pieces of LDM equipment. This equipment includes the ICE end station and some sample delivery systems (molecular jet/cluster source and liquid jet sources)
  • Provide user support on LDM equipment
  • Participate in the design or build-up of more LDM relevant equipment when the need arises

The candidate will have the possibility to apply for beamtimes at MAX IV to conduct his or her own research using the LDM equipment at MAX IV or to apply for beamtimes at other facilities. Therefore, it is expected that the candidate will have a strong vision with regards to various research projects that they would like to pursue whilst employed in this position.

The Epidemiology research group at the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine conducts research on how our health is affected by factors in the external environment. Our research combines data collection in the field with data from national population registers. A specific focus area is health effects of tattoos, and the research group is at the forefront of its field.
The research team is led by associate professor Christel Nielsen and includes a further 6 staff members. The group is international and comprises researchers and research administration staff. We are now looking for a driven post doc in environmental epidemiology to support the project Tattoos and cancer – is there an association?

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctor in Political Science, focus on global sustainable development

The postdoctoral position will be part of the 4-year research program Transformative partnerships for sustainable development: Assessing synergies, effectiveness and legitimacy of UN multi-stakeholder across SDGs to  achieve the 2030 Agenda, Transformative Partnerships 2030 funded by the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (Formas). The program is led by Professor Karin Bäckstrand at the Department of Poltical Science at Stockholm University and the Institute for Future Studies together with Magdalena Bexell and Kristina Jönsson at Lund University and researchers at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. The overarching aim of the project is to examine if, how, and when multi-stakeholder partnerships can contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To answer these research questions, the project employs a mixed-method design combining qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze multi-stakeholder partnerships across the world related to the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Lund University  is a prestigious university in Sweden and one of northern Europe’s oldest universities. The university is located in the city of Lund in the province of Scania, Sweden. It traces its roots back to 1425, when a Franciscan studium generale was founded in Lund.
