Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics and Statistical Analysis of Molecular Data in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 518683), to commence in January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter for two years.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Ecology, Evolution, Bioinformatics or a relevant discipline.  They should have a demonstrated, high level of bioinformatic experience with command line experience (e.g., bash) and experience in R, a good understanding of DNA metabarcoding and meta-omics concepts, good communication skills across disciplines, proficiency in both written and spoken English as well as laboratory and organisational skills. The appointee will work in a collaborative team and lead the project from its launch to publication, and may be involved in additional projects providing support with metabarcoding data analysis. He/She will provide support in writing grants for funding from national and international agencies, and will have the opportunities to present the work at national and/or international workshops and conferences which will be beneficial to career development. Additional information on the teams can be found at Baker-McIlroy Lab website (www.thelifeisotopic.com/) or the Seymour Lab website (sites.google.com/view/matseymour/home). Enquiries about the post can be send to Dr. David Baker at dmbaker@hku.hk.
